It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, everywhere you go!
We need more snow, but all of the lovely lights, the decorations, the Christmas music, this truly is my favorite time of year (aside from Halloween), and I have to tell you I need it bad, I need that cheer, that optimism, I need the people smiling and wishing others a happy holidays, because there are some wonderful holidays coming up for so many people: Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Christmas, Winter Solstice, Yul, Saturnalia, and others.
This is the time of year, when things seem their coldest and darkest, that we light the lights, warm up our homes and public spaces, and greet each other with joyful wishes, or at least we do in general.
I love Christmas and the lore that comes with it, especially Santa Claus, because I absolutely believe in Santa Claus. Yeah, I’m 44 years old, and I believe in Santa Claus, Sinterklaas, St. Nicholas, whatever you want to call him, I absolutely believe he’s real, that he was real, and that the spirit of what he represents is within all of us, and I just love it so much.
