This relates to my rule of law post earlier, comfortable white people crying over a defaced liberty bell replica, a liberty bell with messages about the genocide in Gaza plastered all over it in spray paint.
Let me repeat that: a liberty bell replica. Not even the real Liberty Bell, which I wouldn’t mind if they defaced that, too, especially since it was commissioned by those who adored our slave owning founding fathers.
These people will hue and cry over flags, portraits of the founding fathers, and other metaphors for liberty and freedom, all the while wondering why the people who burned flags, defaced bells, and protested politicians weren’t being beaten in the streets. Hypocrites all.
If you claim to be a Christian, and cry over a defaced liberty bell before you weep over the crushed bodies of innocent Palestinian children, Jesus needs to slap the fuck out of you repeatedly until you get it through your head that you were made for more than worshipping a fucking bell.
Get a fucking grip and be a better human, goddammit.
